1. Tell us a bit about yourself
I’m a career coach for millennial women, a lawyer, a podcaster, dog mamma and a big dreamer. I’m from Melbourne, Australia. I love spending time with my family and friends and snuggling with my puppy and boyfriend on the couch. I’m most passionate about uplifting, challenging, helping and supporting women to step into their light and shine so brightly that others can’t ignore it. I believe that every woman deserves to have a career that she loves because a woman that is in love with her career shows up as her best self in all other areas of her life.
2. What was your first job and how did you get it?
My first ever job was when I was 14. I got a job at Red Rooster (a fast food chain). I got this job by walking in and handing in my resume. I’ve always had a job and worked from a young age because I knew the importance of making your own money. My first professional job was as a law clerk at a law firm. This is a job a friend of mine recommended, I applied and interviewed and got the job. I then worked my way up to being a lawyer within that same company.
3.How did you decide and get to your career today?
I decided to pursue law in my final year of high school. I wanted to make a difference in this world and be in a position where I could truly help people. I also love to talk a lot and debate, so that played a big part in choosing this career path too lol. However, after working in the law for 3 years I decided to start my career coaching business as I’m truly passionate about helping women and empowering them to not settle and find a career that they love. Last year I quit my job as a lawyer in a law firm, I had 4 magical months of soul searching. I got clear and intentional on how I wanted the next chapter of my career to look like. I ended up getting my current job as an in-house lawyer for a developer company. Today I work as a lawyer 4 days a week and run my career coaching business during any spare moment I get, i.e. nights and weekends.
4. What advice would you have given your younger self? Or what is the best career advice you have ever received?
Trust your intuition and always listen to it. You can do what you love as a career and get paid abundantly for it. There is no limit to what you can do, so get out of your own way, put in the work but also allow things to flow to you.
5. In 5 years, where do you hope to be professionally and personally?
In 5 years, I would have stepped out of my career as a lawyer and launched full time into my career coaching business. I will be running workshops and my own online programmes where I empower women worldwide to step into their power and live a life that they love. I would have started a family and moved closer to the beach. I would be truly lit up and energised by life by living my passion every single day.
