1. Tell us a bit about yourself:
I love the beach and the sun, I could eat popcorn at anytime of the day or night. Family is my number one priority. Dark chocolate > milk chocolate. My greatest fear in life is settling for the status quo.
2. What was your first job and how did you get it?
My first real job was selling knives at Vector Marketing. My friend from softball recommended me to the job sophomore year of college. I couldn't get a job to save my life that school break and this one kind of fell into my lap. I ended up being really good at it, learning a ton, and earning enough money to have while back at school. Funny how things workout sometimes.
3. How did you decide and get to your career today?
I spent A LOT of MY time searching, haha, but I went to a liberal arts school and just took classes that seemed interesting. Senior year I took enough classes to major in psychology and minor in the classics. Vector marketing showed me that I was good at sales and management. I put it all together and now I help young professionals find their career path they're meant to be on and find happiness in their occupation.
4. What advice would you have given your younger self? Or what is the best career advice you have ever received?
Stop looking at what everyone around you is doing. Your peers who act like they have it all figured out - they don't even have a clue. Find your unique talents and abilities and run with them. Keep your eyes open for opportunities that fit you best. Find a mentor who you trust and who will give wise advice when your lost or confused. Spend less than you earn and invest while you are young
5. In 5 years, where do you hope to be professionally and personally?
Professionally, I hope to have helped hundreds of young professionals find their career path. I'd love to speak at company events every week to get their working professionals engaged and as a result boost the productivity of the company. Personally, my husband and I would love to have a house in the woods with lots of land and maybe a sailboat!!
