1. Tell us a bit about yourself
I'm a career transition coach who helps others find career fulfillment and figure out their next career move. Whether you're looking to leverage your transferable skills to a new career or to start a business you love, I can help you every step of the way. I have 10+ years as a school counselor and educator providing career job readiness and educational guidance to others.
After graduate school, I became a high school counselor where I provided academic and career guidance to students. Loving the career counseling aspect of my job, I knew I wanted to do more of it, but was not completely sure what direction to go with it. After a couple of years of feeling stuck and feeling uncertain about the next direction I wanted to take my career towards, I started researching other careers, joining networking groups and sought out the help of a coach. It was then where it became clear that I wanted to start my own coaching business where I can continue my passion of helping others and use my career guidance skills to not only reach high school students but also help women who want a career change or start a business they will feel fulfilled in and thrive
2. What was your first job and how did you get it?
My first job was as a peer mentor for this community organization youth program I was a part of while in High School. I used to be part of their youth group and volunteer to facilitate workshops, toy and food drives among other projects. After volunteering and being a peer youth mentor I got hired as a coordinator to manage one of their programs.
3. How did you decide and get to your career today?
It's been a journey but I believe every job and educational experience I've had has led me to where I am today. I've always known I wanted to work helping people and the capacity in which I've done that has evolved throughout the years along with me. Even now that I have embarked on this new journey of starting my own business and becoming an entrepreneur, it still revolves around helping others.
4. What advice would you have given your younger self? Or what is the best career advice you have ever received?
Go for it! You learn by doing, don't allow fear or perfection keep you from pursuing your goals.
5. In 5 years, where do you hope to be professionally and personally?
Professionally I hope to grow my career coaching business to where I'm doing it full time and have impacted thousands of women's lives to reach career fulfillment. Personally I'd like to have more balance and stability.
